First Things First
Careful what order you edit datapoints in. Beeminder derails you if your data crosses the red line, even retroactively. (Also FYI this goal is auto-summing aka cumulative, which can be confusing.)

This goal has the following fine print specified by byorgey:

On weekdays, the first thing I do upon getting into the office (defined as the thing I do when I sit down) must be something important. The precise things that count as "important" are subject to change with a one day horizon.

Current important things = research, course PREP (not grading etc.), or job applications.

If I have an eep day on a Sunday, I lose. I can only count a data point on Saturday if it is an eep day or if not entering a data point would result in an eep day on Sunday. On Saturday, a data point corresponds to working on an important thing at the first opportunity, which could be e.g. before Noah wakes up in the morning, or could be as late as after he goes down for a nap.
