This goal has the following fine print specified by poeticeconomist:
CONVERSION RATES - fixed. Review quarterly. Never float them with stakes.
Online play ... $0.055 per hand (NL$25 and above only)
Live play ..... $11.00 per hour
Study ......... $8.00 per hour, capped at $20/week
200 online hands = 1 live hour = 1.4 study hours = $11 EV
WEEKLY TARGET $65
Play must supply at least $45. Study covers at most $20.
Implied play:study ratio 2.3:1 - between CardsChat's common 3:1 and Red Chip's 2:1 for a player moving up.
QUICK ENTRY
Online hands: 50=2.75 | 100=5.50 | 150=8.25 | 200=11.00 | 300=16.50 | 500=27.50
Live hours: 1=11 | 2=22 | 4=44 | 6.5=71.50
Study hours: 0.5=4 | 1=8 | 1.5=12 | 2.5 (cap)=20
WHY EV, NOT RESULTS
Every figure above is computed from volume I control, never from what I won.
The datapoint after a -$800 session is identical to the one after +$800.
Variance cannot touch this goal. It only ever asks whether I put in the work,
in the right proportions.
RULES
- Micros excluded. NL$2-$5 ran -80.6 bb/100 over 407 hands; crediting those
hands would pay me to keep playing them.
- Study is capped because you cannot win money by studying. At $8/hr an
uncapped target could be hit with zero hands played.
- Do not recompute EV/hand from whatever stake I am playing. That turns the
goal into a ladder-climbing incentive instead of a consistency one.
- This measures showing up, not playing well. Log "how often was I confused
this session?" in the datapoint comment as a quality check.
BASIS
Online $5.59/hr regressed from 1,435 hands / 14.2 elapsed hrs, incl. 25% rakeback.
Live $11.24/hr regressed from 171 tracked hrs less 5% timer drift, $1/$2 and $2/$5.
Study $8/hr derived, not measured: plausible range $2-30/hr, set conservatively.
